  We visited the restaurant for our wedding anniversary with a party of 9, having pre-booked a week in advance. We were told we could have a table for 8.30pm & had plans to travel onto a bar, where we had a VIP table pre-booked to watch a band and celebrate further. We arrived at the restaurant ahead of time, but the table was not ready at 8.30pm. There was no apology. We enquired at 8.45pm when the table would be ready and were told that the previous diners had not vacated it. We were not offered any menus to look at while waiting and the attitude to us was one of utter indifference. My friend complained and again, the response was rude and offhand. We were promised the manager's card, but guess what, it never came. The duty manager didn't come near us again.
  It was well past 9.20pm before we were seated at a different table. We ordered, eventually and when the starters and mains came, the waiting staff had no idea who had ordered what and instead of serving the food to us, were passing plates over the table to us, like we were in a greasy spoon. Not everyone got their meal at the same time, the 9th meal arrived about 5 minutes after the others. The food itself was of varying quality, my chicken had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp as it was shrivelled and dried up.
  There was no quality check at all to see if we were happy. By the time we had eaten, it was past 11pm and we missed our ongoing plans as a result. We settled the bill of nigh on £400 and left.
  
  Never again. There are far better restaurants in Hoylake who can offer better food, better service and don't treat their guests with such disdain.
